Student/Family Resources

We are here to help you and your student succeed during this time of distance learning. Please use this page for various resources, which include different educational or support opportunities. You will find tech tutorials on how to use digital platforms that the teachers are using for their classrooms on the "Tutorials (FAQ) page on this site. This website will be updated as we come across more resources to share and tutorials to help with using technology at home.

Parent Information and Responsibilities

  • It is important to find a balance and help your child (ren) know when it is not appropriate to use technology.

    • Monitor the sites your child visits online.

    • Monitor who students communicate with while online.

  • No programs other than those loaded by the school should be put on the devices.

    • Personal music should not be transferred into the iPad.

  • Ipad should be seen solely as an educational tool, not for play and recreation.

    • Ipad should only be used by the O.L.M.M. student it was lent to, do not let anyone else use it. The O.L.M.M. student who borrowed it (initialed for it at school) will be held responsible for the iPad.

  • Do not leave iPad on the floor, at the edge of any surface, or near food and/or liquid.

  • Be careful what is placed next to the iPad when in a bag or backpack, the cover can be scratched and you will be held responsible for the replacement of the case.

  • Monetary payment may be sought for damage necessitating repair or replacement of equipment if the damage is due to negligence or vandalism.

  • Set a time every night when electronic devices are to be turned off and create a designated "charging place" that is outside the child's room (preferably in your own room) so that devices are charged and ready for the next school day.

  • Students may be subject to disciplinary measures including appropriate legal action for violation of the (Acceptable Use Policy) AUP

    • Cyber Bullying will not be tolerated and appropriate measures will be taken, which can include locking of the iPad and removal from school digital platforms (ie. google classroom and retraction of school email)

    • Reminder: All technology privileges may be revoked for a period to be determined by the instructor and school administration.
